Alongside its infamous sister bag, the Kelly, Hermès presents their iconic Birkin bag – the most internationally recognised and in-demand bag in the world. Originally created in 1983 when Jean-Louis Dumas met Jane Birkin on a flight from Paris to London. During the flight, she explained how she wanted a bag that was spacious enough for everything she needed to carry and more, with plenty of pockets. Shortly after, Hermès produced the first Birkin bag – now, thirty-six years later the bag still thrives.
